It was a busy Thursday!
This morning we continued working on our second unit review in Math. Students are getting prepared for their first Math test next Tuesday, October 4th. For Language, students were busy working on completing their graphic organizer for the Biography of a Famous Person assignment. We got back to creating some more creepy artwork, just in time for October! Students were continuing to create their ink (black paint) blot creatures, based on the monster from the novel Hide and Seeker. For this assignment, students place a drop of watery black paint onto a piece of paper and then using a straw, try to blow the paint around the page to create their own creepy image. We had an interesting History class where students got to examine a map of Canada from 1713 and compare it to a more recent map of Canada from 1999-2001. We had some great discussions on the differences between the two maps. Ended the day with a FLEX period where students had the opportunity to work on any homework that they needed to finish.
Homework:
Math: Finish questions 1-6 of the second Math unit review (handout).
Language: Finish 8 slides on the graphic organizer for the Biography of a Famous Person. Students should be getting ready to start creating their slideshows.
History: Finish questions on the Metis.
Science: Finish Biomass Pyramid activity. It is due tomorrow.
