A great start to the week!

This morning, during Math, students learned how to find the surface area of a rectangular prism and that the surface area is the sum of the areas of its rectangular faces. To find the surface area of a rectangular prism students used the following formula: SA = 2lh + 2lw + 2hw. During Language, students continued to work on their court cases against the Villain from The Tell-Tale Heart for the Insanity Plea activity. Broken into two groups (Prosecution or Defense), each group treats The Tell-Tale Heart as a written confession and uses the document to prove whether the Villain of the story has a mental illness. For Gym, students continued their epic game of Boom City. For Science, students learned about ecological succession and how this is the process by which different species and habitats in an area change over time. We ended the day with an environmental case study of how a volcanic eruption will cause an ecological succession.

Homework:

Math: Finish questions 1-2 on pg. 58-59 in the Math workbook.

History: Finish questions on the Colony of Acadia.
