We had a fun Thursday!
Heritage Academy's Scholastic Book Fair was in full swing today and some of the grade 7 students helped with setting up and running the fair. This morning students finished off their equations for their Minecraft characters in Math. Students had to figure out the surface area and volume of their character. Students got to try out their character voices in Language when they did their first read-through of the Reader's Theatre version of The Tell-Tale Heart. For Art, students continued to work on their good copy of their Odilon Redon-inspired charcoal drawing. During Science, we researched the various organizations that are Canadian and doing their part to protect endangered species and ecosystems. We ended the day with a History activity that's tied to our lesson on the Expulsion of the Acadians. Students were broken into two groups (Acadian & British) and using the information that we learned in class they must each come up with reasons as to which group has the right to occupy the land of Acadia (Nova Scotia).
Homework:
Math: Minecraft character is due. Must include both the surface area and volume of the character.
Science: Finish research of a Canadian Organization that protects endangered species.
History: Finish questions on the Expulsion of the Acadians. Finish points for the Acadian debate.
