"Freezing" Friday, February 3rd, 2023

It's been a fun and productive Freezing Friday!

This morning during Math, students reviewed their multiplying with decimal skills. We practice how to multiply with 0.1, 0.01 and 0.001. During Language, students continued working on writing their rough copy of their short story. We also did two of our Oreo writing challenges, which is ALWAYS a hoot because who doesn't like eating Oreos?! For the third period, we did Art instead of the gym due to a Senior Badminton Tournament happening in the gymnasium. (But don't worry, our class did our first-ever HIIT workout and the students loved it!) Our student's Operation: Kaiju sculpting assignments are turning out GREAT! Check out some pictures below to see for yourself. Once we finish sculpting, we will be getting ready to paint them. After lunch, students reviewed the difference between a solute and a solvent by creating pictorial diagrams of different mixtures to demonstrate their understanding. We then began learning about the difference between saturated and unsaturated and conducted a mini-sugar water experiment to determine when our solution is fully saturated. We ended the day with a FLEX period where students got to work on any unfinished assignments and students found out about our upcoming field trip to the Museum of Science and Technology. The permission forms have been sent home and emailed to families. Please have them signed and returned by Tuesday, February 7th.

Homework:

Language: The graphic organizer for the short story assignment is now due. Make sure it is completed. The rough draft for the short story is due on February 7th.

History: Finish the two opinion questions on taxes for Monday.

Science: If absent, please complete pages 20 - 21 on Easel or in your green duo-tang.
