It was another day when we were stuck indoors due to poor air quality outside. But, that's ok. It didn't dampen our spirits or productivity!
This morning we continued our Geometric "MART" summative task. Students created their own cartesian plane and image they will use for this activity and plotted the points of the original image. Next, we began doing various transformations (translation, reflection, rotation). For Language, students began their Movie Poster Assignment. They are required to choose a book they like that has not already been made into a movie and create a movie poster for it. For Gym/Health, we had one Health presentation done from their Exploring Substances Project and then we went to the gym to learn more Ringette skills. Today, students practiced tricks on how to steal the ring, proper spacing and cutting for strategic gameplay, and then we applied these skills in a mini-game. To end the class we did a shoot-out! This afternoon students continued working on their Farm Planning Project and their advertisement for an ergonomic design they created using an already existing item that they find uncomfortable (i.e. desk chair, game controller, etc.). Both of these assignments are due Monday, June 12th.
Homework:
Math: Challenge 1 on their Rotations Booklet (if not already handed in).
Language: Book vs Movie Cover Comparison.
Science: Work on the Ergonomic project.
Geography: Complete pg. 1 of the Farm Project. The Documentary Questions are due tomorrow.
Art: Practice their Dance!
