It was another hot day while learning!

Yesterday, during Math, students worked in pairs to complete their translation transformation activity. After, we began exploring reflections on a cartesian plane. We learned about the line of reflection, hope to flip shapes, as well as, how to plot the new coordinates. Today, students worked on various reflection activity questions. After examining how the characters and setting were different between the novel and the movie The Giver, we now looked at the differences in the plot. Students spent the period answering reflection questions. We continued with our unit on ringette. Students participated in various ringette drills, which focussed on their passing and receiving skills and basic defence fundamentals. We then played some quick 2 on 2 games. We looked at our second structural failure case study in Science. Today we examine the collapse of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, also known as the "Galloping Gertie" Bridge. Students were then introduced to their next project connected with Geography. This is a cross-curricular activity called the Farm Project. Students had a good laugh going through the slideshow of the activity. We have included the Farm Project slideshow using this link: Farm Project. Tomorrow we will be watching the documentary, "The Biggest Little Farm"!

Homework:
