It was a good day of learning!

Today we completed our "Circles 3 Ways" challenge. We are proud of the students for figuring out all 14 ways that 3 circles intersect or overlap while paying attention to dilation and translations. We were fascinated to discover that 4 circles can overlap or intersect 173 times and 5 circles intersect 16, 951 times! The number for 6 circles is still unknown.... we finished class learning about diameter, radius and circumference. For Language, we continued as a class to create an essay on the topic of "Should we wear uniforms at school?" Today, students worked in groups to create reasons to support their arguments on whether or not we should wear school uniforms. Tomorrow we will learn how to take our ideas and write them in paragraph form. After lunch, we learned in Geography how only 2.5% of the Earth's water is freshwater. We then looked at both natural and human factors that can affect our water systems. For Science, we learned how symmetry plays an important role in structural design.

Homework:

Geography: The Landform Assignment is due tomorrow.

Science: Tower Building Questions are due tomorrow.
